Pope Pius XI reigned as the Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church from 1922 until his death in 1939. His papal motto was "Pax Christi in Regno Christi" which translates "The Peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ." One of his most well known Papal Encyclicals was titled "Casti Connubii" (Chaste Wedlock), which praised Christian marriage and family as "the principal and foundation of domestic society." He taught that the chief end of marriage is to raise up children to become "members of God's household" - fellow citizens of the saints and true worshippers of God who "know Him and love Him and finally enjoy Him forever in Heaven."

Inspired by Pope Pius XI and his teaching on marriage and family, our hope is that our family center will be a place where the Christian faith is known and loved and where God's design for the family is celebrated through physical fitness, recreation, and community fellowship.
